The Krishnachura tree arches on the main entrance welcome everyone with its sweet scented aroma.
They are not just teachers, but real educators. I can only compare to Shabnam miss and my other teachers' teaching style to the kind of teaching style that exists in Canada. At LJS, we learned through playing, songs, rhymes. We did arts and crafts. We learned good etiquette and manners, too. Similar teaching methods are used in Canada. No punishment except time out at LJS, where in other schools in Bangladesh, kids are beaten! LJS education was much more advanced than the public education in Canada. When I came to Canada in 1996, I had to take an English literacy test as well as Math and Science for them to know where to place me. They observed my English language skills, test marks etc and they were so impressed that they put me straight in grade 7. I was supposed to be in grade 6 at most, judging by my age. So I skipped classes 4-6!
